In the modern world, efficient design of road routes is crucial to optimize traffic flow and increase the convenience of everyday life. Traditional road design cannot utilize data comprehensively, making it difficult to present diverse options. Additionally, it does not guarantee optimal routes. to compensate for this, this paper proposes a method to design economically and eco-friendly optimal road routes similar to those designed by experts using GIS data and A* algorithm. The proposed method first organizes the road construction area into a grid environment and identifies GIS data as economical/eco-friendly data. Based on the identified data, design the economical and eco-friendly optimal road route by applying the A* algorithm adapted for road design. To validate the proposed method, we conducted experiments comparing it to real roads, and designed the optimal economic and environmental routes for different terrains by adjusting the weights of GIS data and A* algorithm that affect road design. The ex perimental results show that the proposed method can design routes that are equivalent to existing roads designed by experts and can design optimal routes in different terrains.
