As global concerns over carbon emissions management grow due to climate change, the construction industry is also required to implement systematic measures to reduce emissions. In particular, the necessity of carbon emission management during the construction phase has been emphasized. However, current practices rely on post estimation methods, making real-time monitoring and response challenging. This study proposes a methodology that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI)-based optical character recognition (OCR) technology to automate construction logs, enabling real-time analysis of carbon emissions associated with material and equipment usage. By structuring unstructured data from construction daily report and integrating it with environmental information systems, this approach facilitates the efficient calculation of carbon emissions. The automated analysis system supports data-driven decision-making, reduces additional resource consumption, and contributes to the systematic development of carbon reduction strategies. Ultimately, the proposed methodology is expected to play a crucial role in achieving carbon neutrality in the construction industry.
